Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions. ## Description This posting will be used to fill a current vacancy in the Street and Drainage Maintenance Division of the Public Works Department within the City of Oklahoma City. An eligibility list will be established or supplemented for filling future vacancies per provisions of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is under the direction of an immediate supervisor. The purpose of this position is to provide functional supervision and maintain stock and inventory controls associated with a large supply room, warehouse or yard which services a department. The size of the operation and the increased functional responsibility coupled with the technical expertise required of some positions differentiates this classification from the Inventory Technician. The duties performed require the application of skills and knowledge obtained prior to assuming the duties and responsibilities of the position. Essential job functions include: issuing supplies and equipment to City personnel upon proper authorization; recording disposition and receipt of materials on standardized forms; reviewing and monitoring work products submitted by co-workers to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable policies and procedures; inputting and retrieving inventory information and verifying data; researching and reviewing existing contracts, stock availability, shipping and vendor information; completing purchase requests of needed warehouse items; maintaining departmental filing, accounting and inventory tracking systems; and performing other clerical functions. Additional duties may include: responding to customer inquiries, resolving complaints and discrepancies in orders; and providing quality customer service. The employee has continual contact with City personnel and outside agencies, vendors, and suppliers, etc., in order to exchange work related information, and continual contact with co-workers while monitoring and reviewing their work. The work assignments are general in nature, received in verbal and/or written form, and are performed independently. WORKING CONDITIONS * Inside and outside exposed to heat, cold, humidity, rain, etc. * Possibility of severe sprains, pulled muscles, cuts, and bruises from lifting heavy equipment, parts, supplies, etc. * May work from three (3) to six (6) feet or more above ground level when shelving equipment and supplies in warehouse. * Subject to working near moving machinery and vehicles in motion, such as fork-lifts and trucks, when loading, unloading, and delivering supplies, etc. * Exposed to steady and loud noises such as those caused by industrial motors, engines, and power tools, etc. * Possibility of second and third degree burns from caustic chemicals such as chlorine, weed killer, uric acid, etc. * Exposed to allergy causing agents such as dust, bee or wasp stings, etc. * Exposed to toxins such as those caused by snakes, scorpions, fiddle-back spiders, etc. * Exposed to chemical irritants such as cleaning solutions, herbicides, etc. * Local travel on a daily basis to deliver equipment, supplies, etc. * Subject to working overtime or a varied shift. Note : Typical City employee working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, working hours vary (may require work to begin before 8:00 a.m. and/or end beyond 5:00 p.m., and/or may require work on weekends and holidays), and are subject to change, based on the duties and location of the position and the business needs of the assigned work unit/department., Background Investigation, Drug Testing, Physical Examination: Upon a conditional offer of employment/acceptance of position, the City of Oklahoma City will conduct a criminal history background check for external applicants.
