Additional Qualifications * Knowledge of modern computer equipment, programs, and operating systems. * Knowledge of computer science theory, principles, practices and their application to a wide variety of programming and computer operations services. * Knowledge of operating principles and practices of data processing equipment and peripherals. * Knowledge of computer operating methods, languages and procedures used by the College. * Knowledge of the operational standards and computer security procedures. * Knowledge of proper public contact and telephone etiquette. * Skill in both verbal and written communication. * Skill in good organization and time management skills. * Skill in accurately evaluating and analyzing hardware and software. * Skill in determining accurate remedies when troubleshooting computer related problems. * Skill in operating various types of office equipment including computers and related software and hardware. * Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other department staff, faculty, students and the public. * Ability to install and maintain a variety of computer programs. * Ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions and implement recommendations in support of goals. * Ability to research a variety of information. * Ability to tactfully respond to requests and inquiries from customers/users. * Ability to prepare clear and concise reports. * Positions may require the ability to safely move up to 50 pounds; and drive a golf cart, truck, and other related equipment. ## Description The IT Technician I shall report to the Chief Information Officer/IT Technician II.
