Enthusiasm for transforming traditional database administration into modern, automated approaches. Adaptability and eagerness to learn new technologies and methodologies. We're looking for candidates who are passionate about building scalable, resilient database platforms and are excited about the challenge of transforming traditional database management into a modern, self-service model. ## Description Design and operate SQL Server and Snowflake workloads, developing automated provisioning and lifecycle management solutions. Implement high-availability solutions and declarative management across SQL Server and Snowflake. Own and drive declarative, state-based database deployment practices as a first-class engineering discipline. All schema changes must be version-controlled, auditable, repeatable, and automatically applied using Flyway, Liquibase, or Atlas. Treat database schema as code: no manual changes, no drift. Provision and manage database infrastructure using Terraform, ensuring structured, repeatable, and version-controlled deployments. Develop GitOps workflows and observability pipelines for comprehensive monitoring using OpenTelemetry, Loki, Prometheus, and Grafana. Create migration tools for transitioning from VMs and managed services to our platform. Build self-service interfaces and implement security controls within database environments. ## Related Videos - [From Messy Queries to Scalable Systems - How Data Engineering actually works](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100203-from-messy-queries-to-scalable-systems-how-data-engineering-actually-works) - [How building an industry DBMS differs from building a research one](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/768-how-building-an-industry-dbms-differs-from-building-a-research-one) - [Reducing LLM Calls with Vector Search Patterns - Raphael De Lio (Redis)](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1714-reducing-llm-calls-with-vector-search-patterns-raphael-de-lio-redis) - [Enjoying SQL data pipelines with dbt](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/823-enjoying-sql-data-pipelines-with-dbt) - [AI Model Management Life Circles: ML Ops For Generative AI Models From Research to Deployment](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1152-ai-model-management-life-circles-ml-ops-for-generative-ai-models-from-research-to-deployment) - [Accelerating Authentication Architecture: Taking Passwordless to the Next Level](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/733-accelerating-authentication-architecture-taking-passwordless-to-the-next-level) ## Related Articles - [Making Data Warehouses Fast: A Developer’s Story](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/107-making-data-warehouses-fast-a-developer-s-story) - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again) - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [Graph and AI Trends 2026: Why Is AI Running but Not Yet Delivering?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/680-graph-and-ai-trends-2026-why-is-ai-running-but-not-yet-delivering) - [Coffee with Developers - Maria Apazoglou - Making AI understandable for all in production](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/475-coffee-with-developers-maria-apazoglou-making-ai-understandable-for-all-in-production) - [20 Essential Tools For Backend Development](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/218-20-essential-tools-for-backend-development)
