This is an opportunity to contribute directly to the development of scalable quantum systems and help shape the future of reliable, fault-tolerant quantum computing. ## Description This role focuses on building the foundations of fault-tolerant quantum computation, designing and implementing error-correcting codes, decoding algorithms, and noise-resilient quantum protocols that translate theoretical QEC frameworks into practical, hardware-ready software. You will work at the intersection of quantum information theory, scientific computing, and experimental quantum hardware. You will collaborate closely with hardware, control, and research teams to model device noise, optimise syndrome extraction and decoding performance, and define logical performance metrics that guide system design. The work is highly cross-disciplinary, bridging theory, simulation, and real quantum hardware implementation. ## Related Videos - [Quantum Computing - The tiny and the big challenges](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/934-quantum-computing-the-tiny-and-the-big-challenges) - [Tour de Force: Open-Source LLM Inference Optimization from Simple to Sophisticated](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100099-tour-de-force-open-source-llm-inference-optimization-from-simple-to-sophisticated) - [System Resilience: Surviving the Software Storm](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/874-system-resilience-surviving-the-software-storm) - [Quantum DevOps - Quantum Application Development](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1441-quantum-devops-quantum-application-development) - [Challenges and Solutions for Efficient, Large-Scale Video Analysis](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/2022-challenges-and-solutions-for-efficient-large-scale-video-analysis) - [Fault Tolerance and Consistency at Scale: Harnessing the Power of Distributed SQL Databases](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1520-fault-tolerance-and-consistency-at-scale-harnessing-the-power-of-distributed-sql-databases) ## Related Articles - [7 Cloud Computing Trends Coming in 2025 for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/412-7-cloud-computing-trends-coming-in-2025-for-developers) - [The Fastest-Growing Tech Sectors to Look Out for in 2025](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/373-the-fastest-growing-tech-sectors-to-look-out-for-in-2025) - [Dev Digest 121 - AI goes offline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/456-dev-digest-121-ai-goes-offline) - [Data Engineer Salary UK](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/253-data-engineer-salary-uk) - [The 12 Best Jobs for Software Engineers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/401-the-12-best-jobs-for-software-engineers) - [Where to Find Entry-Level Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/397-where-to-find-entry-level-software-engineering-jobs)
