## Description

The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description The New York State Department of Financial Services seeks to build an equitable, transparent, and resilient financial system that benefits individuals and supports business. Through engagement, data-driven regulation and policy, and operational excellence, the Department and its employees are responsible for empowering consumers and protecting them from financial harm; ensuring the health of the entities we regulate; driving economic growth in New York through responsible innovation; and preserving the stability of the global financial system.

The Department of Financial Services is seeking candidates for the position of Data Analyst 3 in the Technology Bureau. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

 * Collaborates directly with customers to support and deliver complex analytical projects;
 * Performs detailed analysis and interpretation of data;
 * Reviews data sources and evaluates reports prepared by staff to ensure accuracy and completeness;
 * Oversees the development of informational materials and documentation related to analytics solutions;
 * Evaluates current and proposed systems and processes, recommending improvements as needed;
 * Supervises and provides guidance to a team of Data Analysts;
 * Partners with the data warehouse team to ensure accurate data mapping that meets customer reporting requirements;
 * Works with the Data Architect to develop strategies and direction aligned with the division's strategic plan;
 * Coordinates with the Data Governance team to maintain accuracy, consistency, and standardization across datasets; and
 * Other duties as assigned.
