This role serves as the primary strategic owner of web projects, ensuring websites are visually compelling, technically sound, conversion-focused, and aligned with client business objectives. The Web Development & Design Strategist is expected to maintain a deep understanding of website performance, user behavior, accessibility standards, development best practices, and design trends while proactively identifying opportunities that improve user experience, lead generation, and overall website effectiveness. Core Responsibilities Website Strategy & Ownership * Develop and oversee website strategies for all clients * Build actionable roadmaps that align with client goals, business objectives, and user needs * Ensure websites support lead generation, engagement, brand positioning, and conversion goals * Maintain a strong understanding of each client's audience, competitive landscape, and growth opportunities * Identify opportunities for website enhancements, redesigns, new functionality, and performance improvements * Serve as the strategic owner of website recommendations and long-term planning User Experience & Design Leadership * Guide website design strategy with a focus on usability, accessibility, engagement, and conversions * Ensure designs align with client branding while supporting modern UX best practices * Review design concepts, wireframes, page layouts, and user flows * Provide feedback and mentorship to designers to improve quality and consistency * Identify opportunities to improve user journeys and reduce friction throughout the website experience * Ensure all website designs support mobile-first and responsive best practices Development Oversight * Provide technical leadership and guidance for website development initiatives * Review development approaches, architecture, integrations, and implementation plans * Ensure websites are built with scalability, security, maintainability, and performance in mind * Partner with developers to troubleshoot technical challenges and identify solutions * Assist with development work when project needs require hands-on involvement * Oversee website launches, migrations, platform updates, and major enhancement projects Website Performance & Optimization * Monitor website performance, user behavior, Evaluate page performance, Core Web Vitals, accessibility, and overall site health * Analyze user behavior, conversion paths, form performance, engagement trends, and abandonment points * Identify what is working, what is not, and develop actionable recommendations to improve outcomes * Proactively identify website-related risks, opportunities, and growth initiatives before they are surfaced by clients * Translate website performance data into business-focused recommendations and priorities * Clearly communicate the rationale behind website recommendations to internal teams and clients * Continuously refine websites based on data, testing, and user feedback Audience & User Journey Strategy * Ensure website experiences support the needs of targeted audiences throughout the decision-making process * Evaluate navigation, content structure, conversion opportunities, and user flows to reduce friction and improve engagement * Align website recommendations with audience behaviors, motivations, and information needs * Identify opportunities to better support awareness, consideration, and conversion stages of the user journey Quality Assurance & Best Practices * Establish and maintain website standards across design and development projects * Review completed work to ensure quality, accuracy, functionality, and consistency * Ensure websites meet accessibility, responsiveness, browser compatibility, and performance requirements * Identify recurring issues and develop processes that improve quality and efficiency * Promote best practices across the web team Team Leadership & Collaboration * Provide strategic direction and mentorship to web designers and developers * Help prioritize projects, allocate resources, and remove obstacles for the team * Foster collaboration between design, development, SEO, content, digital advertising, client relations, and project management teams * Clearly communicate priorities, requirements, timelines, and strategic recommendations * Support team development through coaching, feedback, and knowledge sharing Innovation & Continuous Improvement * Stay informed on emerging web technologies, development
