Casey's will not provide sponsorship or employer support for applications or petitions for F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, J-1, or any other employment-based visa. * Bachelor's degree in a related field (i.e., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Management Information Systems) or equivalent experience is required; advanced degree is a plus. * At least 10 years of demonstrated success leading teams to architect, develop and maintain complex custom build, SaaS and ERP using modern lean/agile product development techniques. * Must have strong experience in a high availability, high transaction environment. * Must have strong understanding of modern platform architectures and emerging technologies. * Must have experience with managing a complex portfolio of products and ability to optimize resource allocation based on platform strategy, product goals and business goals. * Solid understanding of modern technology framework and be able to coach/mentor teams in modern best practice. * Leadership experience across technologies related to package solutions, ERP (like Oracle retail), SaaS. * Understanding of cloud platform and building applications that operate in multiple availability zones and regions. * Have continuous integration and continuous delivery experience as well as experience rapidly scaling an engineering team at a start-up or other environments is a plus. Experience building, scaling, application and SaaS solutions. * Experience managing vendor relationship. * Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills at all organization levels as well as strong leadership, team building, and people management skills to build a high-functioning organization. * Leadership skills and experience that combines persuasiveness, decisiveness, and competitiveness necessary to motivate a team. * Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment. Change management strongly preferred. * Strong analytical skills to manage numerous information sources and to provide data analysis reports to senior management. * Ability to manage several concurrent critical projects and create system to effectively prioritize demands. * Ability to develop a deep understanding and experience of what makes a great company culture and is able to build/lead the team in line with Company values. This role does not allow for 100% remote work. Qualified candidates must live within a daily commutable distance of Casey's Store Support Center in Ankeny, IA and be willing to work onsite 5 days per week. ## Description The Senior Director, IT Engineer provides strategic leadership and direction of multi-site, (onshore and offshore) product and engineering teams across a diverse landscape, while fostering an environment which allows for a test and learn culture. This Senior Director of IT Engineering will be responsible for translating vision into technical roadmaps and building or integrating products/platforms that appropriately balance the need for speed-to-market, scalability, and differentiation., * Responsible for hiring, training, salary administration, performance management, coaching and corrective actions for direct reports. Collaborate with team members on career development and goal setting. * Lead engineering and product teams to create robust and reliable solutions that deliver against an ambitious product roadmap for Merchandising and Supply Chain technologies * Build and lead a team of high caliber engineering teams for Fuel, Merchandising and Supply chain. Enable and drive engineering culture and product mindset. Set a plan and timeline for how Casey's technology organization can evolve. * Lead a highly skilled team to transform the Merchandising and Supply Chain technology stacks into a platform that can support a suite of applications and services. * Enact a strategic plan for developing and empowering team members with processes that result in improvements to code quality, security (OWASP), efficiency, velocity, and systems, and engineering processes. * Lead the effort to build the right resource plan comprised of a mix of team members, contract, and offshore labor to drive effectiveness and efficiency.
