## About the Role

Do you have experience in Patient interaction?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

 * Two (2) years of college and/or other related course work, such as medical terminology, anatomy and physiology preferred.
 * RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) credential preferred.
 * 1-3 years progressive Health Information Management experience preferred
 * Must have proficient computer skills.
 * Experience with an Electronic Medical Records system preferred.
 * Knowledge of Health Information Management software applications .
 * Must be customer-service oriented and able to effectively communicate and build relationships with Team Members at all levels in the organization.
 * Professionalism in interpersonal communication skills with patients, patient families, colleagues, physicians and ancillary department personnel is required.
 * Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, to assist in providing exceptional care for our patients and their families.

## Description

The HIM Specialist is responsible for the release of medical information; assisting in the analysis and processing of incomplete medical records, distribution functions, completion of birth certificates, and processing of internal and external requests; provides assistance to the physicians in completion of records. Provides excellent customer service to all customers.
