This role is responsible for all aspects of software development in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, managing projects, contributing to technical direction, and driving continuous improvement. Outline of Duties: * Lead all aspects of the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) * Receive project and change requests, ensuring key information is collected. Prioritize projects and tasks in coordination with other development groups, section management, and other stakeholders. * Plan and manage projects. Deliver projects on time, and within scope and budget. * Investigate and troubleshoot issues, assess impact, and identify root cause. Propose and implement solutions to prevent recurrent problems. * Respond to ad hoc requests for information quickly and accurately, with an eye to developing self-service solutions for recurring requests. * Analyze the upstream implications and downstream impacts of proposed changes and issues and ensure all impacted processes and objects are addressed. * Ensure the quality, security, and timeliness of group deliverables through thoughtful direction and judicious review. * Manage developer performance: plan training, mentor staff, and write performance reviews. * Report team and project status, document problems and resolutions. * Maintain a working knowledge of the "state of the art" in software development.
