This person does not need to be the primary DevOps engineer or Spark developer, but they must be technical enough to understand the platform, ask the right questions, validate training content, and help users become more self-sufficient. ## Description ABSC is seeking a mission-focused Technical Training & User Support Specialist to support the NGA's Data Modernization Services program in partnership with Syntasa. This role is ideal for a technically strong professional with hands-on experience in cloud, data, and DevSecOps environments who can bridge technical execution, user enablement, and training delivery. The selected candidate will support a high-impact data modernization effort by developing and validating technical training materials, coordinating training-related activities, supporting users, and helping translate complex technical capabilities into clear, usable guidance for mission and technical audiences. This is not a traditional training-only role. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical aptitude, including experience with AWS, Python, Kubernetes, and modern data/platform environments, while also being comfortable developing training content, supporting users, and coordinating across technical teams. This role is on-site/flexible hours in: Herndon, VA; Springfield, VA; St. Louis, MO; or Aurora, CO. Clearance Required for this role: TS/SCI eligibility with willingness/ability to obtain CI polygraph. Core Technology Stack Data / Processing * Apache Spark (PySpark, Scala) * Delta Lake, Parquet * Structured Streaming Infrastructure * Kubernetes (execution environment) * Docker Storage / Cloud (Abstracted) * S3 / object storage * AWS / Google Cloud Platform / Azure (environment-dependent) DevOps (Exposure Level) * Git, Jenkins (CI/CD) Languages * Python (PySpark) * Scala (preferred) * Bash / scripting Training & Training Material Development * Develop, refine, and maintain technical training materials, user guides, job aids, walkthroughs, standard operating procedures, and quick-reference documentation. * Translate complex technical workflows into clear, practical training content for both technical and non-technical users. * Support high-side validation of training materials to ensure accuracy, usability, and alignment with operational environments. * Work closely with engineers, developers, DevOps resources, and program leadership to capture technical processes and convert them into repeatable training products. * Support training delivery, demonstrations, onboarding sessions, and user enablement activities. * Identify training gaps and recommend improvements to improve user adoption and operational effectiveness. * Ensure training content remains current as platform capabilities, data workflows, and technical processes evolve. Technical Project Coordination / PM Support * Provide light project management support for training, user enablement, and technical documentation activities. * Track action items, training development status, validation timelines, stakeholder feedback, and delivery milestones. * Coordinate with program leadership, technical SMEs, DevOps, data engineering, and customer stakeholders to ensure training priorities are aligned with mission needs. * Support meeting preparation, note capture, status reporting, schedule coordination, and follow-up actions. * Help organize and prioritize training backlog items, documentation needs, and user support trends. * Assist with planning for releases, capability rollouts, and related user readiness activities. User Support * Provide responsive user support for platform access, basic troubleshooting, workflow questions, and training-related issues. * Capture recurring user issues and recommend updates to training materials, FAQs, or support documentation. * Escalate technical issues to the appropriate DevOps, engineering, or platform support resources. * Support user onboarding and help ensure users understand available tools, workflows, and support channels., This role is especially important because the program is currently single-threaded in the training function. The selected candidate will help reduce bottlenecks, accelerate the development and validation of training materials, and improve overall user adoption and mission readiness.
