COMMUNICATIONS SOLUTIONS INC - **Location:** Santa Clara, CA, United States - **Salary:** $100,750.0 - $168,870.0 - **Contract:** Permanent contract - **Skills:** Computer-Aided Design, IBM Basic Assembly Language and Successors, Minitab, Creo - **Published:** June 10, 2026 - **Apply:** https://www.indeed.com/viewjob?jk=299e37aa1bd21c7d ## About the Role Do you have experience in Team management?, * Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial discipline, or equivalent engineering course work and related experience * Experience with electronics components or electro-mechanical assembly production * Ability to collect data in a live-production manufacturing environment * Ability to work effectively within a project team and to direct the activity of others as needed * Ability to communicate with global customers and all levels of the organization including management, marketing, sales, process engineering, and international production teams * Ability to prioritize work to meet objectives and to manage multiple projects simultaneously * Ability to travel ~20% domestic and international, * Familiarity with high speed connectors or contract manufacturers * Experience with automated assembly and inspection processes - component placement and press-fit, automated optical inspection (AOI), automated x-ray inspection (e.g. 5DX). * Experience with CAD modeling software for basic assembly and inspection fixture design (ideally Creo) * Ability to interpret engineering drawings via geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles * Experience with statistical engineering methods (ideally Minitab software) ## Description This role is responsible for supporting connector installation, inspection, and related assembly processes at customer sites and their contract manufacturers (CMs). This position requires a technical understanding of the mechanical and electrical functions of Amphenol connectors and the related impact of installation variables. This position is expected to develop a technical working relationship with customers and their CM sites to understand their assembly processes and will work collaboratively to improve application quality and consistency. Strong communication, technical understanding, and interpersonal skills are critical in this role. * Work closely with customers and their contract manufacturers to evaluate and address connector challenges/concerns as they relate to the production process and functional integrity of the connector * Assist customers and CMs with new process development related to the connector and establish proper connector application and handling processes * Observe and assess customer/CM processes and provide constructive feedback * Function as the "first responder" for customer/CM quality concerns, with ability to provide initial containment feedback and collect relevant data for distribution to the internal team * Work closely with internal development, NPI, and quality engineering teams to provide feedback for continuous improvement of connector quality * Receive feedback from customer/CMs on potential product and packaging improvements and evaluate improvement feasibility with internal team * Develop and evaluate custom application tooling as specified by the customer/CM * Update customer-accessible documentation related to connector application and inspection * Monitor CM production yields related to the connector and provide feedback/assistance for process improvement as needed * Perform quantitative analysis of quality and/or performance concerns at customer/CM sites * Coordinate procurement of necessary application tooling in preparation of initial customer system assembly ## Related Videos - [More efficient software for more efficient microchips](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1164-more-efficient-software-for-more-efficient-microchips) - [The Billion Dollar Machine: First Time Right.](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/393-the-billion-dollar-machine-first-time-right) - [You’re a great coder?
