OR successful completion of a relevant program from an accredited technical school and two years computer and peripheral repair experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience * Good knowledge of software packages and operating systems; knowledge of diagnostic software programs and restructuring of hard drives * Skill in training user on commercial software packages; skill in troubleshooting and repairing network equipment and peripherals; skill in installing hardware and software; skill in completing routine upgrades and repairs on personal computers; skill in logical problem solving * Ability to recognize problems and recommend solutions; ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, County employees, appointed and elected officials and outside organizations * Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation * Must have available transportation during entire workday; required to travel to remote sites within Bexar County * Must have valid driver's license, motor vehicle liability insurance and personal injury insurance * May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek * Required to be on call after hours and weekends on a rotating schedule Working Environment and Physical Demands: * Constantly working in indoors conditions with occasional jail environment exposure * Work environment involves some exposure to temperature variations and occasional exposure to high voltage equipment * Frequently moves objects weighing up to 10-25 pounds; occasionally moves objects weighing up to 50-75 pounds * Occasionally moves about office * Frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information * Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery * Constantly positions self to maintain computers, including under desks and in close-space areas * Must be able to remain in a stationary position ## Description Under general supervision, installs, relocates, troubleshoots, repairs, performs diagnostic tests and preventative maintenance on mainframe terminals, personal computer workstations and peripherals;
