Job Summary Interface with Network Evolving Architecture teams to help lead technical direction for backbone and CRAN evolution, including development of scalable routing architectures (ISIS, BGP, LDP, RSVP TE/Segment Routing), optical transport integration (CDC ROADM, coherent optics, OTN), and the adoption of new IP, MPLS, and Ethernet standards across the Transport and IP layers. Responsibilities include defining and validating architectural roadmaps, leading lab and field trials, and driving beta and launch cycles for integrated voice, video, and data platforms across the converged IP network. Additional responsibilities include backbone and CRAN telemetry architecture, real time analytics, automated network assurance, and optimization of traffic flows across global peering, private interconnects, and major content ecosystems to assist in escalations of troubleshooting network issues. You will influence standards alignment with IETF, MEF, OIF, and key industry forums, leading the integration of emerging technologies that improve cost efficiency, programmability, resiliency, and scalability across Comcast's national footprint. This role operates within a fast paced Fortune 50 technology environment, contributing to end to end engineering that supports millions of customers. You will help drive continuous network evolution through automation, reliability engineering, and high velocity innovation. What You'll Do: * Applies tactical and strategic approaches to design and new product introduction; balances constraints and opportunities to drive engineering consensus for new product introduction and methodology. * Interfaces across the ecosystem to ensure thorough vetting of solution. * Leads matrixed teams and serves as network technical liaison with adjacent product and engineering teams to ensure smooth introduction of new products. * Produces, reviews and coaches junior engineers' job roles in detailed design work, SMOP creation and operations execution of complex change across converged environment. * Work in a heavily matrixed environment and act as integrated team member or leader with virtual teams to shorten R&D and Design cycle for new products and network evolution. * Creates and documents high-level, detailed network designs. * Communicates applicable design guidelines and provides guidance to ensure compliance. * Strong initiative to build relationships both internally and externally with minimal supervision/direction from management. * Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. * Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.
