## About the Role

+ 4+ years of experience in database administration, with a focus on SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
 + Strong experience with database design, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
 + Strong understanding of database security concepts and experience implementing security measures.
 + Experience with database backup and recovery procedures, including disaster recovery planning.
 * Skills:
 + Familiarity with database migration and upgrade procedures.
 + Candidate must be customer focused, goal oriented, and have a passion for success
 + Experience and proven ability to communicate (verbally and written) effectively with business and IT stakeholders and senior leadership.
 + Able to lead other database staff regarding best practices and techniques
 + Able to clearly document complex database systems and structures including architectures, relationships, and configurations, + Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or a related field

## Description

As a Database Admin II on the Technology team, a typical day for you will include:

 * Develop and maintain database systems, including design, implementation, and ongoing optimization.
 * Ensure the performance, security, and availability of our database systems, including planning and executing backups and disaster recovery plans.
 * Design and implement database security measures to protect sensitive data, including access controls, encryption, and data masking.
 * Collaborate with developers and other IT staff to best design database systems as well as troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, such as performance problems or data inconsistencies.
 * Develop and maintain documentation of database systems, including system architecture, configuration, and operational procedures.
 * Perform regular database maintenance tasks, such as database optimization, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
 * Plan and execute database upgrades and migrations, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.
