 * Candidate must meet ONE of the following:
 + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Software Engineering; OR
 + Relevant DoD/military training (example: Research & Development Specialist (Intermediate) Playlist); OR
 + Relevant professional certification or equivalent experience (example: CompTIA Security+).
 * Required experience and skills:
 + Network engineering, NOC, or systems administration experience supporting enterprise networks.
 + Practical hands-on experience with routing/switching, firewall/VPN configuration, load balancing, and circuit provisioning.
 + Proficiency with network monitoring/observability tools, vulnerability scanning basics, and ticketing/configuration management systems.
 + Ability to perform network troubleshooting, document root-cause analysis, and produce operational runbooks and change records.
 + Strong communication and coordination skills for cross-team engineering and fielding activities.
 * Desired:
 + Prior DoD/ARNG/NETCOM experience supporting multi-domain (NIPR/SIPR/cloud) networks.
 + Experience with SD-WAN, automation/orchestration, and scripting for operational tasks (PowerShell, Python).

## Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Network Engineer, Journeyman to join our team in the greater DMV area, supporting the Army National Guard.

Responsibilities

 * Design, deploy, and sustain enterprise network infrastructure: routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and related network services.
 * Execute WAN and LAN upgrades to improve throughput, latency, reliability, and interoperability with existing and planned architectures.
 * Monitor network devices, WAN links, VPN services, and security integrations; detect incidents and performance issues and perform troubleshooting and restoration.
 * Manage network circuit lifecycle activities: provisioning, maintenance, testing, and disconnects per enterprise standards.
 * Assess site readiness for hardware deployments by evaluating connectivity, capacity, and environmental constraints.
 * Collaborate with architects and operations teams to support network design, implementation, and sustainment decisions.
 * Document configurations, changes, and technical activities to support governance, audit readiness, and sustained performance.
 * Support configuration management, change/release processes, and evidence collection for accreditation and compliance.
