The candidate must maintain the clearance. * Bachelor's degree in a field of study applicable to the position with 8+ years of relevant experience. 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree. A minimum of 8 years of experience in a previous System Administration role. * Experience in system installation, patching and testing, and system configuration of networked services, file systems, basic scripting and authentication experience * Operating System administration skills for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.x and later to include building systems up from bare metal, performing software package installation, operating system and application troubleshooting, and implementing security hardening * Apply patches, updates, and hotfixes using Red Hat Satellite, YUM, or DNF * Experience ensuring consistent software versions across environments and systems are current * Experience diagnosing / resolving system issues, analyze system logs using journalctl, dmesg, or /var/log * Direct experience working in Windows and/or Linux operating systems * Maintain detailed system documentation in Confluence, Git or other similar tools Desired Qualifications: * Experience with virtualization/cloud-based technologies (e.g. OpenStack, Citrix XenServer Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, and/or VMWare), Docker Containers, Ansible, and/or Heat templates * Manage load balancing and failover systems ## Description Peraton is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator in our Herndon, VA or Aurora, CO office in support of the EMMETT program, a next-gen Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Indications and Warning (I&W) system- an enterprise capability that catalogs resident space objects (RSOs), identifies RSOs of interest, and delivers timely data to ground operators. As part of the team you will support an exciting program which involves design, development, test, and deployment of a broad and complex system in an Agile construct to contribute to mission success for a variety of stakeholders.
