This role is both highly technical and leadership focused, you will guide engineering teams in building scalable, secure, and high-performing web applications using modern AWS cloud services and frontend technologies. As part of Technology, you'll contribute to New York Life's ongoing digital transformation by partnering closely with architects, developers, QA engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders to deliver enterprise-grade solutions. You will foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, engineering excellence, and continuous improvement while driving modern development practices, cloud adoption, DevOps maturity, and operational stability. What You'll Do: * Lead architecture and design for AWS-based distributed systems supporting New York Life's technology modernization initiatives. * Guide implementation across backend services (AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, S3, Route53, EC2, ECR) and frontend applications (React, TypeScript, Vite). * Drive engineering best practices including code reviews, coding standards, CI/CD implementation, and DevOps maturity. * Collaborate closely with developers, QA engineers, architects, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and reliable solutions. * Establish and optimize GitHub-based development workflows, Docker containerization, deployment pipelines, and cloud-native operational practices. * Mentor and lead development teams while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
