This role serves as the senior technical leader responsible for defining and executing the architectural evolution of the Claims Pay platform. Currently built on a legacy SugarCRM foundation, the platform faces challenges related to scalability, performance, and maintainability, including duplicated components and monolithic constraints. The Staff Software Engineer / Principal Claims Pay Architect will lead the transformation to a modern, API-first, event-driven architecture. This role partners closely with engineering, product, DevOps, and integration teams to define the target state architecture, sequencing, and roadmap. The architect will drive consolidation of duplicated systems, guide phased decomposition of the monolith, and ensure alignment with business goals and client SLA requirements. The ideal candidate is a highly experienced technical leader who excels as an individual contributor, demonstrates strong systems thinking, and can influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
