## Description

Peraton is seeking a Software Engineer to support the development of a modernization framework and contribute to enhancements and sustainment of two existing business applications. This role is ideal for a developer with foundational J2EE and AI knowledge and who is eager to learn modern development practices, cloud concepts, and application transformation techniques., * Assist in developing and maintaining Java-based components within the modernization framework.

 * Support refactoring efforts for legacy components under senior developer guidance.
 * Participate in implementing APIs, integrations, and backend services.
 * Write clean, maintainable code following defined coding standards.
 * Assist in documenting technical requirements, system behaviors, and application architecture updates.
 * Perform basic unit testing and assist with debugging activities.
 * Collaborate with mid-level and senior developers during design sessions and sprint ceremonies.
