This role provides strategic oversight of Workday integrations, reporting, data conversions, and technical testing activities across a complex statewide environment. The ideal candidate excels at guiding technical teams, navigating multi stakeholder environments, and delivering high-quality Workday technical solutions., * Lead Workday technical strategy - Provide strategic direction for the Workday technical workstream by shaping integration architecture, data flow design, reporting frameworks, and conversion approaches across a multi module statewide environment. * Oversee Workday integration design and delivery - Guide the development of integrations using Workday tools such as EIB and Web Services, ensuring scalable and supportable solutions. * Drive end to end testing cycles - Partner with SMEs to define test strategy, build test scenarios, validate integration behavior, and coordinate system, integration, and end to end testing activities. * Direct Workday reporting and analytics development - Oversee the design of reports, ensuring alignment with business needs and data governance standards. * Manage Workday data conversion strategy - Lead planning and execution of data extraction, transformation, validation, and load activities across multiple conversion cycles. * Serve as escalation point for complex Workday technical issues - Provide expert guidance on integration failures, data discrepancies, security impacts, and cross module dependencies. * Coordinate cross functional Workday technical teams - Align the state technical and functional teams to ensure cohesive delivery across all technical workstreams. * Develop and maintain Workday technical documentation - Produce detailed design documents, integration specifications, conversion mapping, testing artifacts, and support procedures. * Ensure alignment with statewide Workday program goals - Validate that technical solutions support program objectives, comply with governance standards, and integrate effectively with external partners and legacy systems. * Guide tenant strategy and deployment readiness - Support migration planning, cutover sequencing, and post deployment stabilization activities to ensure a smooth transition into production. About the Division: The Office of State Human Resources (OSHR) serves as the central authority for HR across North Carolina state government, but only its IT staff has been optimized under the NCDIT umbrella. This means that while OSHR continues to manage statewide HR policies, classification, compensation, recruitment, and workforce programs, its technology operations-such as IT infrastructure, systems support, and digital solutions-are now aligned with NCDIT's centralized IT governance. By integrating OSHR's IT resources with NCDIT, the state ensures consistent technology standards, improved cybersecurity, and streamlined support for HR systems, while OSHR retains full responsibility for core HR functions and policy administration. This optimization enhances efficiency and modernizes the technology backbone supporting HR services without altering OSHR's primary mission. ## Related Videos - [What if your HR software adapted to you, not the other way around?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100259-what-if-your-hr-software-adapted-to-you-not-the-other-way-around) - [Destigmatizing the Workplace: Building Real Inclusion](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1492-destigmatizing-the-workplace-building-real-inclusion) - [HR Tech and AI Trends and Where You Can Start](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1468-hr-tech-and-ai-trends-and-where-you-can-start) - [The Future of Employee Wellbeing: Benefits, Trust & Performance](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1808-the-future-of-employee-wellbeing-benefits-trust-performance) - [How Trust, Healthy Tension, and Sustainable Culture Shape the Future of Work](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1711-how-trust-healthy-tension-and-sustainable-culture-shape-the-future-of-work) - [The 2026 Talent Pivot: Essential Trends for an Evolving Workforce](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100098-the-2026-talent-pivot-essential-trends-for-an-evolving-workforce) ## Related Articles - [System change: restart as developer?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/39-system-change-restart-as-developer) - [What is a web developer?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/18-what-is-a-web-developer) - [Should senior developers refuse interview coding challenges?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/29-should-senior-developers-refuse-interview-coding-challenges) - [The Best Job Search Websites of 2025](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/368-the-best-job-search-websites-of-2025) - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [How to Write a CV and Interview if You Don't Fully Qualify For The Job](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/183-how-to-write-a-cv-and-interview-if-you-don-t-fully-qualify-for-the-job)
