Required Knowledge and Skills: * Meticulous organizational skills * Ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy * Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills * Ability to flexibly work on multiple tasks concurrently * Capacity to work proactively and positively with: * Team members * Service recipients * Their family members * Agency and community representatives * Problem solving skills to minimize instances of project disruption due to technical or other issues. Required Experience: * 1 year of experience in a research assistant-type role in a SUD or MH provider agency, or in an academic, social science, healthcare, science, or business setting with data: * Collection interviews * Entry into databases * Monitoring for quality and completeness * Management, e.g., "cleaning", storage, retrieval * 1 year of experience working as a member of a project team * Experience in proficiently using Microsoft Office, e.g., Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. * Ability to rapidly become proficient entering data into the SAMHSA SPARS database., * Bachelor's (Preferred) Experience: * Behavioral health: 1 year (Preferred) * social service or human services: 1 year (Preferred) ## Description The Creating Opportunities to Achieve Community Health (COACH) project is designed to build substance misuse/mental health promotion infrastructure to serve Detroit youth. COACH will utilize evidence-based alcohol and drug prevention and mental health promotion strategies through a basketball league. Prevention specialists will work to enhance youth participants' protective factors and to educate family members and others in the community., * Conducts GPRA and other data collection interviews at designated intervals as required. * Accurately records all data pertinent for analysis. * Extracts data from interviews, forms and other documents as needed. * Provides alerts to staff when scheduled data are due. * Monitors data for completeness and performs data "cleaning" prior to data entry. * Requests reconciliation of missing or incorrect data from staff. * Enters data into spreadsheets, databases, and SAMHSA SPARS grant reporting website. * Manages storage and retrieval of data. * Utilizes appropriate software programs to score various standardized instruments as needed. * Works closely with the contracted Data Analyst and Project Director regarding data collection requirements, report development, etc., according to established guidelines and deadlines. * Maintains records of required data collection and submission and reports. * Assists with coordination of meetings, e.g., scheduling, meeting notices and materials. * Participates in COACH and other agency work groups, quality improvement committees, and prevention group meetings as assigned. * Assists in maintaining and updating the community resource list, media reference list, curriculum inventory, program materials inventory, etc., related to the COACH project. * Attends training, seminars, workshops, or as required. * Participates in the promotion of program analysis, continuous learning, and continuous program improvement. * Performs other duties as assigned by the Project Director or other members of the leadership team.
