Here's what else you'll bring: * Relevant degree such as a bachelors or masters degree in Engineering, Technology, IT Systems, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Controls, or Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university, preferably in electrical engineering, automotive engineering, or systems engineering * 8+ years of experience in automotive systems engineering, diagnostics, powertrain controls, or electrified propulsion development, with strong exposure to Onboard Diagnostics (OBD) * Proven experience defining and managing system-level OBD concepts, including monitor strategies, fault detection, readiness behavior, diagnostic architecture, and compliance-relevant logic * Strong understanding of OBDII regulations, diagnostic system behavior, monitor enable conditions, DTC concepts, MIL behavior, and readiness requirements * Experience working in a software-defined vehicle (SDV) architecture, including cross-domain interaction between centralized and distributed software functions * Ability to define clear, structured, and testable system requirements and decompose them into domain-specific functional expectations * Hands-on experience with requirements and traceability tools such as Jama, DOORS, or Polarion * Familiarity with UDS diagnostics, diagnostic event handling, DTC structures, CAN/Ethernet communication, and ECU interaction concepts * Experience with engineering and analysis tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, CANoe, CANalyzer, CANape, and ETAS INCA * Ability to read and understand system architectures, software specifications, Simulink flow diagrams, and functional interface descriptions * Strong systems thinking mindset with the ability to manage complexity across multiple functions, interfaces, and vehicle states * Strong interpersonal skills including ownership, self-motivation, analytical problem solving, structured communication, and proven ability to work in a truly cross-functional and global environment * Motivated engineer wanting to work at the cutting edge of electric vehicle technical design and define robust diagnostic systems for next-generation BEV and EREV platforms ## Description At Scout Motors, you don't just design vehicles- you shape the future of the road.
