We are seeking a Senior Operations Manager with strong technical skills, problem solving abilities, deep customer affinity and communication skills, to lead our operations/engineering organization., 5+ years of managing system or software development teams experience - 3+ years of systems engineering and operations leadership for an Internet service or leading edge IT organization experience - 7+ years of relevant hands-on systems engineering and administrative work in networking, storage systems, operating systems experience - Experience in systems engineering and operations leadership for an Internet service or leading-edge IT organization - Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or experience in a professional field or military Preferred Qualifications - 7+ years of managing system or software development teams experience - Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence - Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems) - Experience with Agile engineering practices (Kanban, continuous delivery, etc.) - Experience with AWS platforms, services, and design patterns ## Description Building and Leading the System Engineering team that own building innovative solutions to operational problems and driving measurable Operational Excellence improvements across the entire organization A day in the life This is a highly visible role that requires both business acumen when working with senior management, a strong technical background for understanding systems and database engineering practices, and technical depth for removing development roadblocks.
