Preferred Qualifications: * Experience using TARA for contingency, flow gate, or deliverability studies (MISO or CAISO). * Transient stability analysis experience in PSS®E (preferred) or PSLF. * Experience with dynamic modeling of generators, including inverter-based resources (IBRs). * Familiarity with ERCOT and CAISO tariff and planning frameworks. * Experience with DSA tools (PSAT, TSAT). * Experience modeling large dynamic loads. * Familiarity with electromagnetic transient (EMT) tools such as PSCAD. ## Description Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) is seeking a highly skilled Principal System Studies Engineer to lead advanced power system studies and support critical infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for performing complex analyses, advising on system planning and mitigation strategies, and delivering technical insights that ensure grid reliability and performance. This is a key role for an experienced engineer who thrives in analytical environments, brings deep technical expertise, and contributes to the future of power system planning and operation. What You'll Do: Power System Studies & Analysis * Perform detailed system studies including steady-state power flow, contingency analysis, and system impact assessments. * Support transmission planning, interconnection studies (load and generation), and mitigation strategy development. * Conduct system modeling, simulation, and analysis using industry-standard tools. Technical Leadership & Reporting * Prepare detailed technical reports, study results, and recommendations for internal stakeholders and customers. * Provide technical guidance on system performance, reliability improvements, and regulatory compliance. * Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate findings into project execution. Modeling, Simulation & Innovation * Analyze and validate system models, including generation, load, and network configurations. * Support development and use of dynamic models, including inverter-based resources (IBRs). * Contribute to innovation through continuous learning and application of emerging technologies in grid analysis.
