They have existing libraries for all of this, but there is a lot of custom work that is happening between the data source processing and the writing to the database. Custom work examples: * Utilizing patterns/pagination to sort data * Need to utilizing timestamps from the data and use this as opposed to when the data arrived from source * Multi-processing framework (this would be a differentiator if a candidate has used this before) * Customer is writing to Influx DB today, but the database they are writing to may change. * Grafana experience is required * Once a story is written (in a Sprint), the story is validated in Grafana, so they need to know Grafana but not be an expert ## Related Videos - [Python-Based Data Streaming Pipelines Within Minutes](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1233-python-based-data-streaming-pipelines-within-minutes) - [Kubernetes and Microservices with Multi-Model Databases](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/382-kubernetes-and-microservices-with-multi-model-databases) - [5 steps for running a Kubernetes environment at scale](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/88-5-steps-for-running-a-kubernetes-environment-at-scale) - [How to Benchmark Your Apache Kafka](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/76-how-to-benchmark-your-apache-kafka) - [Let's Get Started With Apache Kafka® for Python Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/565-let-s-get-started-with-apache-kafka-for-python-developers) - [All your telemetry data from any source in one place](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/57-all-your-telemetry-data-from-any-source-in-one-place) ## Related Articles - [Graph and AI Trends 2026: Why Is AI Running but Not Yet Delivering?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/680-graph-and-ai-trends-2026-why-is-ai-running-but-not-yet-delivering) - [Effortlessly Scale Prometheus With The Telemetry Data Platform – And Keep your Grafana Dashboards, Too!](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/3-effortlessly-scale-prometheus-with-the-telemetry-data-platform-and-keep-your-grafana-dashboards-too) - [Making Data Warehouses Fast: A Developer’s Story](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/107-making-data-warehouses-fast-a-developer-s-story) - [Data Engineer Salary UK](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/253-data-engineer-salary-uk) - [The 13 Best Python Libraries for Developers in 2025](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/371-the-13-best-python-libraries-for-developers-in-2025) - [What is Agentic Programming and Why Should Developers Care?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/625-what-is-agentic-programming-and-why-should-developers-care)
