Job involves sitting most of the time. ## Description To provide leadership to Student Data Specialists and maintain the student management database for HCS schools as assigned to ensure accurate, up-to-date, and secure student data for the school district. Reports To Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer, * Provides leadership to the Student Data Generalists in the Centralized Admissions Center through modeling best practices for the purpose of providing quality customer service to visitors and maintaining accurate up-to-date student data. * Participates in the development and implementation of the HCS Centralized Admissions Center procedures and policies. * Responds to inquiries from Student Data Generalists and assists in addressing issues; escalates more complex problems to the Assessment and Accountability Coordinator or other appropriate personnel as needed to ensure timely resolution. * Supports the Assessment and Accountability Coordinator as needed in the coordination of work schedules to ensure sufficient coverage for the HCS Centralized Admissions Center; may assist as requested in overseeing work activities and providing feedback in regards to Student Data Generalist performance. * Contributes to the definition and delivery of training for Student Data Generalists. * Participates in project-based teams to improve effectiveness and efficiency of processes related to student data. * Performs the function as the primary operator of the student management database and registration management system for assigned HCS schools and acts as a liaison between HCS Centralized Admissions and the school office staff in regards to the access of student records and registration/enrollment information. * Communicates effectively with a variety of parties, including parents/guardians, students, HCS administrators and staff, educational institutions, and various outside agencies and organizations, for the purpose of gathering needed information, responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and providing information about procedures. * Enters and updates student data in the student management database in order to confirm the receipt and entry of complete and accurate student records, documentation, and information regarding enrollment and discipline for the purpose of ensuring data integrity and compliance with applicable policies and procedures. * Verifies and monitors the complete and thorough entry of daily attendance records by schools assigned. * Generates and distributes student data, information, or reports as scheduled or requested while maintaining compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), including but not limited to report cards, progress reports, attendance information, student demographics, local and state reports, to students, parents/guardians, HCS administrators and staff, outside agencies, and other groups or organizations as appropriate. * Assists the school principals and other faculty at assigned schools with developing and entering the master schedule for each new school year and monitors and updates the information on an ongoing basis. * Identifies possible discrepancies/issues based on student records, including but not limited to attendance, discipline, and proof of residency/guardianship. * Notifies other HCS personnel, such the English Language Learner Coordinator, Federal Programs Coordinator, etc., as appropriate regarding students needing various services. * Provides support to teachers, principals, students' parents/guardians, and other HCS staff to assist with various issues and questions related to the student management database. * Performs a various clerical duties as assigned, including preparing and filing documents, answering phone calls, greeting visitors, and other tasks as necessary. * Performs other job-related duties as assigned., Twelve month year.
