## About the Role

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
 * 3+ years (or adjust as needed) of hands-on mainframe development experience
 * Strong proficiency in:

 * COBOL programming
 * CICS online transaction processing
 * DB2 (SQL development, performance tuning)
 * JCL (Job Control Language)

Experience with mainframe debugging and testing tools

Solid understanding of batch and online processing environments

Familiarity with SDLC methodologies (Agile or Waterfall)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

## Description

* Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, DB2, and JCL
 * Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
 * Enhance existing applications and support modernization initiatives
 * Write and optimize DB2 SQL queries and stored procedures
 * Develop and maintain batch processes using JCL
 * Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including performance tuning and debugging
 * Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices
 * Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, business analysts, and infrastructure teams
 * Support system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and deployment activities
 * Document technical designs, processes, and system changes
