## About the Role

* 7 years of application modernization, cloud engineering, or migration experience
 * Proven experience participating in large-scale Azure migration programs involving dozens or hundreds of applications
 * Strong Azure migration planning and execution experience
 * Extensive .NET application experience
 * Experience supporting enterprise-scale applications
 * Background working within large enterprise modernization or cloud transformation initiatives
 * Experience collaborating across multiple business units and stakeholders
 * Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, * Experience supporting datacenter exit initiatives
 * Azure certifications
 * Experience with cloud-native application architectures
 * Prior experience leading modernization assessments and migration workshops, * Strong Linux administration and support experience
 * Java application migration and modernization experience
 * Experience supporting Linux-hosted enterprise applications
 * Linux ecosystem expertise including middleware, scripting, and supporting services
 * Experience with containerization and Kubernetes technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

 * Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) experience
 * Red Hat Enterprise Linux experience
 * DevOps and CI/CD pipeline experience
 * Infrastructure as Code experience

## Description

The client is seeking a Senior Application Modernization Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise Azure cloud migration initiative focused on modernizing and migrating critical business applications from legacy environments into Azure.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

 * Assess application portfolios for Azure migration readiness
 * Evaluate application dependencies, infrastructure requirements, and migration risks
 * Develop modernization strategies including rehosting, re-platforming, and refactoring recommendations
 * Execute and support large-scale Azure application migration efforts
 * Partner with application owners, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders
 * Document migration plans, technical requirements, and modernization roadmaps
 * Support enterprise cloud transformation and datacenter exit initiatives
 * Provide technical guidance and best practices throughout migration programs
