Degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related field is preferred. * 3-5 years of experience in telecommunications, VoIP systems preferably with Cisco Systems, or related IT support role (school district experience is a plus)., * Experience in installing, troubleshooting, and supporting VoIP phones, voicemails, call routing adjustments, and emergency communication lines, including POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) and/or cellular services. * Basic understanding of networking fundamentals, including LAN/WAN environments, routing and switching, and network cabling. * Familiarity with K-12 telecommunication laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with 911 requirements and applicable federal and state communication standards. * Ability to use ticketing systems for reporting and tracking telecommunication issues to vendors and service providers. Professional Skills: * Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication, and interpersonal skills. * Critical thinking and strong problem-solving abilities. * Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment. * Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. * Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail. ## Description The Telecommunications Specialist is responsible for providing day-to-day support and maintenance for the school district's voice and communication systems.
