Powered by technology, we are a three-sided marketplace that empowers providers, augments insurance payors, and serves patients. Following the mass increase in depression and anxiety, the need for accessibility is more important than ever. To make our vision for mental healthcare a reality, we're building a team of entrepreneurs and mission-driven go-getters. Since launching in February 2021, we've empowered more than ten thousand therapists and hundreds of thousands of clients across the country and insurance landscape. We've raised more than $328Mm in funding, including our Series D, at a $3B valuation from Sequoia Capital, Transformation Capital, TCV, SignalFire, Menlo Ventures, Goldman Sachs Alternatives, and others. The Opportunity We're hiring a Software Engineer to help build and evolve the backend systems that power Grow Therapy's platform. In this role, you'll design, implement, and ship server-side features and services that directly impact how clients and providers connect, communicate, and access care. You'll join a collaborative, product-focused engineering organization where technical work is closely tied to reliability, scalability, and real-world outcomes. This role is ideal for an engineer who takes pride in writing clean, well-tested code, thinks carefully about system design and data integrity, and is energized by the opportunity to grow alongside a fast-moving team. Why This Role Matters Access to mental healthcare in America is still deeply fragmented and Grow Therapy is building the platform to fix that. We connect clients, providers, and health plans in a single integrated system, and the software our engineers ship directly shapes whether people can find and afford the care they need. We're growing fast - nearly 22,000 clinicians, over 1.4 million clients, and on track to surpass 10 million sessions in 2026 and we see ourselves as a generational company with a long way still to go. Engineers who join now have a real opportunity to build systems that matter at meaningful scale. What You'll Be Doing * Own backend services and APIs end to end - from technical design through implementation, deployment, and ongoing reliability * Drive architectural decisions within your team, bringing structure and clarity to complex, ambiguous problem spaces * Lead improvements to core platform systems, including data pipelines, service reliability, and business logic * Design and enable safe, repeatable experimentation through robust A/B testing and analysis workflows * Diagnose and resolve data quality, performance, and correctness issues across systems * Write clean, well-tested, maintainable production code and set a high bar through code reviews and technical mentorship * Partner closely with Product, Design, and Data to translate goals into technical designs and execution plans * Shape the technical direction of your team and contribute meaningfully to cross-team architectural discussions, Claims EngineThe Claims Engine team powers Grow's end-to-end insurance claim lifecycle, from claim creation through submission, remits, and denials. As a Software Engineer on this team, you'll build robust, observable services that encode complex payor rules, reduce denials and rework, and ensure providers get paid accurately and on time. ## Related Videos - [API Design - Getting Started](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/33-api-design-getting-started) - [Coffee with Developers - Adam Wiggins](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/919-coffee-with-developers-adam-wiggins) - [Developing the Backend with Stefan Lingler, CTO at Shpock](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100360-developing-the-backend-with-stefan-lingler-cto-at-shpock) - [Bringing the power of AI to your application.](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1010-bringing-the-power-of-ai-to-your-application) - [Rest API Antipatterns](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100208-rest-api-antipatterns) - [Meet Your New BFF: Backend to Frontend without the Duct Tape](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/682-meet-your-new-bff-backend-to-frontend-without-the-duct-tape) ## Related Articles - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again) - [Navigating the AI Shift](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/629-navigating-the-ai-shift) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers) - [The Best X (Twitter) Accounts for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/294-the-best-x-twitter-accounts-for-developers) - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [What is Software Engineering?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/289-what-is-software-engineering)
