 * High School Diploma / GED\n
 * 1 - year work experience or education in machining specific trade area\n, * Ability to score at least a 75% on entry exam\n
 * Ability, with or without accommodation, to pass site functional test lift/push/pull\n
 * Ability and willingness to work overtime as required\n
 * Ability and willingness to work occasional weekend shifts\n
 * Ability and willingness to work on an off-shift (2nd: 3pm-11pm, 3rd: 11pm-7am)\n
 * Ability and willingness to wear personal protective equipment, for example safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, and safety shoes\n
 * Ability and willingness to take a pre-employment test and submit to technical interview to maintain program sponsorship\n
 * Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job.\n
 * Employment is contingent on applicant signing a 2-year retention agreement with GE that begins after program graduation.\n, * Able to read blueprints\n
 * Strong math skills\n
 * Able to use, read, and understand measuring tools\n
 * Knowledge of common PC tools, Excel, Word, Power Point, etc\n
 * Reading comprehension; understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents\n
 * Able to follow written instructions and take verbal instructions\n
 * Able to work with computerized shop floor tools to include, but not limited to: vouchering systems, on-line quality programs, and payroll management tools\n

Ability to work alone or as part of a team with minimal supervision\n

## Description

 * Work from drawings, sketches, and other instructions to perform machining operations such as mill, turn, face, bore, groove, contour, dovetail, drill, tap, etc. to precise mechanical tolerances\n
 * Assists in taking and recording various measurements / runouts of components \n
 * Report any conflicts to the Shift Supervisor\n
 * Complete daily point of work risk assessments and Safety Observations\n
 * Record and report daily time\n
 * Aggressively maintain a safe working environment to include good housekeeping practices of assigned work area and comply with all applicable environmental, health and safety policies\n
 * Perform tooling set-up and maintenance activities as directed\n
 * Maintain classroom GPA of B or better\n
 * Pass technical ability reviews during summer internship period\n
