This role involves hands-on development with COBOL on IBM z/OS and participation in mainframe migration and modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will be proficient in a range of mainframe technologies and possess strong analytical skills to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team., Education: A degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field is required. Four additional years of related experience can be substituted if the degree is not in a relevant field. Experience: A minimum of eight years of relevant experience, including hands-on COBOL programming on IBM z/OS. Experience in mainframe migration projects or modernization initiatives is needed. Technical Skills: * Proficiency in JCL, COBOL, VSAM, DB2, IMS, and CICS. * Strong knowledge of batch processing and online transaction processing. * Experience with IBM utilities, TSO/ISPF, and Abend-AID. * Experience with Control-D, Control-M, and File-AID. * Familiarity with mainframe communication tools and security protocols like RACF. * Knowledge of best practices in mainframe migration planning. * Familiarity with AI/ML tools (e.g., CoPilot, WatsonX, ReDux) for code analysis. * Understanding of AI-driven code refactoring platforms. Soft Skills: * Analytical and problem-solving abilities. * Effective verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to work independently and in a team environment with a focus on quality and detail. Preferred Qualifications * Experience with DevOps practices on mainframes, including tools like Jenkins and Git. * Prior experience with performance tuning on mainframe systems. * Prior experience with ServiceNow.
