Java is our primary language, but we're a polyglot team - we also work in Python, Go and other technologies. We value engineers who are genuinely excited to pick up new tools and master them., * 5+ years of engineering experience with a solid computer science foundation * Strong Java proficiency (3-5 years hands-on) and comfort reading and writing Python * Real experience building and operating distributed systems in production * Fluency with containerization and cloud infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, AWS or Google Cloud Platform) * Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or GitHub Actions) and cloud data stores (S3, DynamoDB, Redis, RDBMS) * A polyglot mindset - you're not precious about languages or technology and you pick up new ones quickly * The habit of writing code that's concise, readable, and easy for the next engineer to reason about * Strong communication instincts - you ask good questions early, surface concerns before they become problems and give feedback that makes designs better * A track record for being someone your teammates genuinely enjoy working with - collaborative, low-ego and generous with your time and knowledge ## Description * Designing and building distributed backend services that are reliable, performant, and secure - primarily in Java, with Python, Go and other technologies in the mix * Going deep on hard engineering problems: understanding our data pipelines, troubleshooting distributed systems, latency optimization, improving failure modes * Contributing meaningfully to design discussions - not just implementing what's handed to you but helping shape what we build and how * Reviewing your teammates' code thoughtfully and having your own reviewed with the same rigor * Participating in on-call rotations, investigating production issues methodically, writing RCAs and closing the loop with improvements that prevent recurrence * Keeping your knowledge sharp and sharing what you learn - new technologies, better patterns and tools * Our stack: Java (primary), Python, Go, Kotlin, Node.js - AWS & Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Kafka, Redis, Jenkins, GitHub.
