Proven experience taking hardware from prototype through production Comfortable working with standard electrical test equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes, continuity/hipot testers) Demonstrated ability to move fast, iterate quickly, and solve problems with minimal direction, Experience with UAVs, aerospace systems, robotics, or other high-performance hardware Familiarity with EMI/EMC best practices and high-reliability design Experience with harness CAD tools (SolidWorks Electrical, CATIA, Zuken, Altium, etc.) Background in designing or supporting test fixtures, breakout systems, or test racks Hands-on experience working with contract manufacturers or in-house production teams ## Description We're looking for a Senior Test Integration Engineer to own electrical interconnect systems across our UAV platforms. This is a highly hands-on role focused on designing, building, and validating harnesses that operate in demanding environments. You'll work across electrical, mechanical, and test teams to deliver reliable, lightweight, and production-ready harness solutions, while also contributing to test infrastructure like fixtures and system test racks. This role requires speed, autonomy, and a strong bias toward execution, Harness Design & Ownership Own end-to-end design of UAV wiring harnesses: concept prototype production. Design for power, high-speed signals, RF, and mixed-signal systems under tight size, weight, and power constraints Rapidly iterate on harness layouts, routing, and packaging with mechanical and electrical teams Full harness design including connectors, shielding strategies, wire types, and protection schemes for harsh environments (vibration, temperature, EMI) Drive design decisions with a focus on reliability, manufacturability, and field serviceability Build, Integration & Validation Lead bring-up and integration of harnesses into full vehicle systems Define and execute validation: continuity, insulation resistance, shielding effectiveness, and system-level functional checks. Identify and fix issues quickly during integration and flight test cycles Production & Scaling Work directly with technicians and vendors to transition harnesses from prototype to production Define build processes, QA checks, and acceptance criteria Troubleshoot production issues (opens/shorts, intermittent faults, connector failures, shielding gaps) Continuously improve harness designs based on production and field feedback Failure Analysis & Debugging Own root-cause analysis of electrical interconnect failures in lab, production, and field Use oscilloscopes, DMMs, hipot testers, and other tools to diagnose complex issues Drive corrective actions quickly and prevent recurrence Documentation Create and maintain harness drawings, pinouts, and build docs Keep documentation lightweight, accurate, and usable by technicians Maintain revision control without slowing down development speed ## Related Videos - [More efficient software for more efficient microchips](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1164-more-efficient-software-for-more-efficient-microchips) - [Empowering Democratic Processes: Building a Hybrid Voting Platform](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1163-empowering-democratic-processes-building-a-hybrid-voting-platform) - [How To Test A Ball of Mud](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/173-how-to-test-a-ball-of-mud) - [Reusing apps between teams and environments through Containers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/107-reusing-apps-between-teams-and-environments-through-containers) - [How I Built QA from Scratch in a Scaling Startup - no fluff real life story](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/2041-how-i-built-qa-from-scratch-in-a-scaling-startup-no-fluff-real-life-story) - [Building a hypercar from scratch](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/607-building-a-hypercar-from-scratch) ## Related Articles - [How software is steering vehicle technology](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/515-how-software-is-steering-vehicle-technology) - [Should senior developers refuse interview coding challenges?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/29-should-senior-developers-refuse-interview-coding-challenges) - [The 8 Best Code Testing Tools](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/402-the-8-best-code-testing-tools) - [What is a Test Plan: Guide to Test Planning](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/191-what-is-a-test-plan-guide-to-test-planning) - [How to Write a CV and Interview if You Don't Fully Qualify For The Job](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/183-how-to-write-a-cv-and-interview-if-you-don-t-fully-qualify-for-the-job) - [Why Attend a Developer Event in 2026?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/688-why-attend-a-developer-event-in-2026)
