This high-impact solution accelerates the delivery of benefits to Veterans and their families. The Senior AI/ML Engineer candidate will also be expected to interpret and decompose business requirements into data design patterns for building and maturing large language models (LLMs) and Large Multimodal Models (LMMs) to support an artificial intelligence (AI) solution. This candidate will work closely with Business Analysts to investigate, implement, and calibrate our AI solutions to achieve the desired VBA outcomes. This candidate will support the establishment of AI performance baselines for generating clinical summaries to improve accuracy and will require continuous reviews with VBA stakeholders. In this role, you will apply your strategic and analytical skills to major company challenges. You will team with world-class professionals to develop and test strategies that ultimately impact the bottom line. And you will do it all in a collaborative environment that values your insight, encourages you to take on new responsibility, promotes continuous learning, and rewards innovation. Key responsibilities include researching and selecting commercial and open-source foundation models, building and evaluating ML/AI pipelines across structured and unstructured data (including embeddings/vector stores), and deploying and operating models in AWS (e.g., Bedrock, SageMaker, Lambda, S3, Textract).
