## About the Role

Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Customer communication?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, Galveston County Health District is seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented part-time EMS NET Dispatcher to support our Galveston Area Ambulance Authority (GAAA) team. In this role, you will coordinate and schedule non-emergency patient transports, maintain accurate records, verify insurance information, and ensure timely communication between hospitals, nursing facilities, and EMS personnel. This position is described in the attached job description., * High school diploma or equivalent required

 * One year of experience related to patient care or non-emergency dispatching preferred, preferred
 * Knowledge of general office procedures and equipment
 * Strong customer service skills
 * Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 * Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
 * Ability to prioritize and adjust schedules in a fast-paced environment
 * Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements
 * Valid Texas driver's license or ability to obtain one
 * Reliable transportation
 * Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
 * Must meet immunization, background check, and drug/alcohol screening requirements
 * Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and community partners

## Description

* Receive and process requests for non-emergency patient transports
 * Schedule local and long-distance transports to maximize available resources
 * Maintain transport logs and collect patient demographic, medical, and insurance information
 * Monitor ambulance status and coordinate transport activity
 * Verify insurance information and review patient care reports for documentation compliance
 * Track dispatch activity using designated software and spreadsheets
 * Perform quality assurance activities for NET calls in accordance with Medicare requirements
 * Coordinate with EMS supervisors and outside transport providers as needed
 * Assist with reports and data collection for advisory groups and stakeholders
 * Participate in public health emergency response activities when needed
 * Perform other duties and cross-training assignments as required
