In this role you will own the design and delivery of enterprise-grade software systems - from intuitive user interfaces through distributed backend services and cloud infrastructure - while actively participating in the invention pipeline: identifying patentable innovations, drafting disclosures, and working alongside patent counsel through prosecution. You will set technical direction and shape the software architecture of platforms that automate complex mission-critical operations at scale., * 8+ years of professional full-stack software engineering with at least 3 years at a equivalent senior IC level. * Proven experience architecting and shipping production-grade distributed platforms in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP). * Strong proficiency across the stack: modern JavaScript/TypeScript (React or equivalent), Python or Go backends, relational and NoSQL databases, containerization (Kubernetes / Docker). * Demonstrated experience with intellectual property: invention disclosures, prior art analysis, or direct involvement in patent application drafting. * Ability to communicate novel technical concepts precisely in writing - a prerequisite for effective patent documentation. * Strong system design skills: API design, microservices decomposition, event-driven architecture, data modeling, and performance optimization at scale. * Experience owning technical roadmaps and influencing engineering direction without formal authority., * Active patent portfolio or named inventor on issued or pending patents. * Experience building platforms in data center, industrial IoT, infrastructure management, or other operations-heavy domains. * Familiarity with AI/ML integration patterns: embedding model-powered features into product surfaces, working with inference APIs, or building human-in-the-loop workflows. * Experience with xAPI / Learning Record Store (LRS) standards, workflow orchestration engines (Temporal, Prefect, Airflow), or BMS / SCADA integration. * Background in open-source strategy, defensive publication, or IP portfolio management. * Experience designing federated service architectures, API mesh patterns, or event-driven integration layers that decouple siloed applications and enable cross-domain interoperability at enterprise scale. * Graduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
