Do you have experience in Writing skills?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, Knowledge:

 * Of general office practices and procedures.

Skills:

 * In using a personal computer and Microsoft Office applications.
 * In keyboarding.

Abilities:

 * To exercise independent judgement and apply prescribed policies and procedures.
 * To follow written and verbal instructions.
 * To pay close attention to details.
 * To research and analyze information and make logical decisions based on policies, procedures, and laws associated with criminal history checks.
 * To work independently and as part of a team.
 * To communicate effectively orally and in writing in English.
 * Must be eligible to become Virginia Criminal Information Network (VCIN) certified which requires either United States citizenship or lawful permanent resident of the United States and eligible for naturalization.
 * Graduation from high school or equivalent.

Additional Considerations

 * Some experience working in a criminal justice environment dealing with confidential information preferred.

## Description

* Processing Virginia and/or Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) responses received electronically through the Consolidated Applicant Tracking System (CATS).
 * Conducting inquiries on names and other descriptive data, using the Criminal History Background Request forms.
 * Opening/reviewing incoming mail for completeness, and accuracy pursuant to established procedures.
