* Strong SQL Server DBA experience within live production environments
 * Proven expertise in performance tuning and resolving database bottlenecks
 * Hands-on experience with Azure Cosmos DB (including indexing and partitioning)
 * Understanding of HA/DR principles and database resilience
 * Experience working in collaborative engineering or delivery teams
 * Ideally exposure to public sector or highly regulated environments

## Description

Database Administrator (DBA) - Up to £550 per day Outside IR35 - Edinburgh (Remote)

One of Lorien's leading Public Sector clients is looking for a Database Administrator (DBA) to join their team on an initial 12 month contract with a possible 12 month extension.

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A REMOTE POSITION WITH OCCASIONAL ON-SITE ATTENDANCE AS REQUIRED IN EDINBURGH

Key Responsibilities:

 * Administering and supporting SQL Server environments across development, test and production
 * Managing and optimising Azure Cosmos DB workloads for performance and scalability
 * Identifying and resolving database performance issues impacting Legacy systems
 * Improving query performance, indexing strategies and reducing latency
 * Implementing monitoring, alerting and capacity planning improvements
 * Ensuring data security, access control and compliance with GDPR standards
 * Supporting modernisation of data platforms and ongoing service improvements

Key Skills & Experience:

 * Strong SQL Server DBA experience within live production environments
