The primary responsibility is to provide clear communication, technical drive, and team leadership to maintain and mature engineering excellence within the group and be accountable for ensuring employee competence and engagement. This position is responsible for driving technical leadership in the development of EDA processes and methods; has the ability and passion for continuous technology and process improvement., * Ambassador for EDA Engineering, considerations, trade-offs, and expectations, working with the entire new product development community + Provides program planning support with resource management estimates, development model recommendations (internally developed, make vs. buy, ODM partner joint development), technology maturity and platform assessments, duration, and cost estimates. + Accountable for electrical development, quality-of-service, performance, and electrical hardware design functions through all Starkey new product development execution and sustaining. * Manage EDA staff + Establish and continuously improve organizational strategy for EDA, promoting effective execution, innovation, and succession planning + Create and maintain appropriate job descriptions for all staff. + Plan and manage staff resource allocations, utilizations, and prioritizations with PWA, MS Project, and PMOs. + Manage staff PTO requests and perform their performance and salary reviews on time. + Maintain a positive attitude and keep staff morale, teamwork, and motivation high. + Resolve any staff conflicts promptly and diplomatically. + Manage staff with a professional and tactful demeanor. + Ensure all staff are aware of and abide by all corporate and departmental policies and procedures. + Communicate department and corporate policies, objectives, or announcements in a clear and timely manner. + Provide technical leadership and direction on all product development activities. * Staff and develop the EDA team members and continuously improve them + Develop and manage electrical hardware design of hearing aids and associated accessories with excellence within the department. + Keep teams abreast of new product requirements and standards.
