Primarily responsible for registering Births, Deaths and Stillbirths, as well as taking Notices of Intent for Marriages and Civil Partnerships, the role requires organisation, attention to detail and good working knowledge of Microsoft applications. The role is fully trained, ensuring the competency and expertise to undertake all legislative and statutory duties and functions in compliance with General Register Office (GRO) governance and regulations, to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set out in the code of practice. The role also interacts with internal and external colleagues, partners and stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in one of the largest and highest performing registration authorities in the country, alongside a highly dedicated, passionate team. The Essex Registration Service believes in delivering the best possible service to the residents of Essex, providing essential services during the most momentous and emotional events in someone's life. Please note that the job role requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area. Therefore, the post holder will need to have a driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means. During training the successful candidate will not be expected to work on a Saturday, they will work a weekday instead. The successful candidate may also be required to complete some training in Chelmsford.
