## About the Role

* Master's student in Computer Science, Informatics, or a related field
 * Strong programming skills and practical experience in software development
 * Experience in full-stack or application development, ideally including frontend and backend integration
 * Experience with GUI / frontend development and the design of usable, robust interfaces
 * Experience with software engineering practices such as version control, testing, and documentation
 * Interest or experience in working with geospatial data processing is a plus
 * Structured, independent, and reliable way of working
 * Interest in practical software development in a project setting

## Description

We are looking for a student assistant to support the development of a stand-alone software open-source tool for the planning and optimization of borehole heat exchangers (BHEs). The work includes full-stack development of an application with GUI, backend connection, data handling, visualization, reporting, and a small database. The project is carried out with industrial feedback and offers the opportunity to contribute to an end-to-end software solution with practical relevance.

Your responsibilities include:

 * Development of a stand-alone software tool for BHE planning and optimization
 * Frontend / GUI development
 * Integration and processing of different data types and formats, including GIS data
 * Connection to backend components
 * Visualization and reporting of results
 * Implementation of a small parameter and project database
 * Testing, documentation, and further development of the application
