This role is a blend of systems administration, network security, and hands-on technical support. You will be the primary guardian of our digital and physical IT infrastructure, ensuring that our systems are not only high-performing but also meet rigorous security and compliance standards (NIST, ISO 27001, CMMC)., The ideal candidate is a "security-first" professional who is equally comfortable managing a SharePoint migration as they are troubleshooting a printer or conducting a forensic investigation into a system failure. This is a hybrid remote position based in Rockville, MD. Must work on site 3x a week., 1. Infrastructure & Endpoint Management * Hardware Lifecycle: Configure, deploy, and manage company laptops and peripherals; maintain accurate inventory tracking from provisioning to secure decommissioning. * Network & Connectivity: Maintain local and cloud-based network infrastructure (firewalls, switches, VPNs), ensuring redundancy and optimal remote access security. * Software Administration: Oversee company-wide software installations, patching, and updates to ensure stability and regulatory compliance. 2. Security Operations & Compliance * Threat Mitigation: Monitor logs and security tools for threats; lead vulnerability management and proactive incident response. * Framework Alignment: Ensure IT operations meet NIST, ISO 27001, and CMMC standards; maintain detailed security documentation for business proposals and audits. * Access Control: Enforce MFA, least-privilege principles, and data loss prevention (DLP) strategies. * Assessments: Conduct regular penetration testing, vulnerability scans, and system hardening. 3. User Support & Training * Tier 1-3 Support: Act as the escalation point for technical issues, resolving tickets efficiently to minimize downtime. * Security Culture: Lead cybersecurity awareness training for staff, focusing on phishing prevention and risk management. * Onboarding/Offboarding: Manage seamless transitions for new and departing employees, including hardware shipping and secure data sanitization. 4. Strategic Planning & Collaboration * Budgeting: Forecast and manage the IT budget for hardware, software, and telecommunications. * Policy Development: Align IT security strategy with business objectives and develop formal IT procedures. * Collaboration Tools: Provide advanced SharePoint management and support secure conferencing equipment in meeting rooms. 5.
