Knowledge, Skills And Abilities: * Possess an understanding of the mechanical, electrical, and fire life safety systems used in a data center environment including, but not limited to the following: electrical distribution and layout, Transformers, PLC's, Generators, Switchgear, UPS systems, STS', ATS' PDU's, Chilled Water Systems, CRAC/CRAH's, Pre-Action Sprinkler Systems * Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, NFPA 25, and compliance issues as well as building codes in regard to fire life safety * Current knowledge in industrial safety best practices (i.e., lockout/tag out, arc flash protection, OSHA, and state regulations) Physical Requirements: All physical requirements are expected with reasonable accommodations: * Walk job sites in uneven terrain * Work at heights and from ladders * Regularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 50 pounds or more * Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance ## Description The Critical Operations Technician(s) (COT) are Prime Data Center's front line responders for hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators, switchboards/switchgears, UPSs, PDUs, AHUs, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems. The COT maintains and follows the processes that maximize customer uptime in the most cost-effective way. Ensures that data center problems are identified and repaired quickly, that contractors deliver quality services, and that internal customer demands are met. Reports to: Critical Facilities Manager Location: Onsite in data center located in Elk Grove Village, IL Available Shifts/Schedules: This role is a non-exempt (hourly) position with eligibility for overtime. We are hiring technicians for our new data center facility in Elk Grove Village, IL.
