Essential Functions * Experience in Linux/Unix system administration. * Familiarity with networking protocols and the OSI model. * Strong understanding configuring, deploying, and managing switches and firewalls. * Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation of tasks. * Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. * Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. * Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. * MUST HAVE A VAILD US DRIVER LICENSE Physical Requirements * Will be required to climb stairs to access equipment for troubleshooting. * Climbing ladders and platforms will be necessary. * Will be required to wear hearing protection, eye protection and other associated personal protective equipment. * Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing. * Physical requirements are sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures. * Must be able to work in tight confined space areas., * If offered a position, proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident/Green Card holder of the United States is required. * Needs to have clear, concise, and accurate communication skills. * Must have ability to work well with office staff and customer representatives. * Government security clearance may be required in the future. * Must be able to travel to support position requirements. In some cases, accommodations can be made for POV, if necessary. * Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. * Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relations with customers, clients, co-workers, and management. * Must possess and maintain a valid CDL with endorsements Florida driver's license. * Must pass a federal background investigation. * Must comply with all "drug free workplace" requirements as mandated by directives issued by the appropriate federal contracting officer and the company, which requires drug testing for use of illegal drugs by employees in sensitive positions. ## Description The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs., We are seeking a network engineer with deep knowledge and broad experience across network security technologies (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, etc.). This position will be working within the mission environment supporting the Artemis program., Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to: * Architect, deploy, configure, and effectively manage network infrastructure. * Define, document, and follow standards and best practices for systems design, testing, and implementation. * Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues. * Familiarity with Network IDS/IPS solutions. * Understanding of effectively configuring ACLs and Network Access Control (NAC) solutions. * Integrating network devices with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions. * Familiarity with networking protocols and the OSI model., * All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and Company safety standards. * Will be required to work inside and outside throughout the test complex. * Position requires daily individual to travel to different areas on site. * Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand is required to access various locations on the facility. Equipment and Machines * Cranes and other heavy equipment such as crane carriers, Hi-Rangers, man lift platforms, hydraulic lifts, spider staging, converter dollies, cargo lift trailers, and tractor/trailers. * Operate computer terminals, personal computers, and related computer peripheral equipment to maintain/adjust database logs and records, print documents and record work performance. * Personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, laser printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies.
