This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being in the field, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring high-quality work that directly improves public spaces., * Conduct daily site visits across city parks and sidewalks (typically within one borough). * Be on site by 7:00 a.m., overseeing active construction and planting operations. * Monitor and coordinate contractor activities including excavation, saw cutting, planting, and concrete restoration. * Ensure all work meets project specifications, safety standards, and contract requirements. * Work closely with project managers and NYC Parks representatives to keep projects on track. * Track and verify quantities for pay items such as trees planted and excavation volumes. * Complete daily field reports, measurements, and documentation. * Enforce safety compliance, including proper PPE and safe work practices. * Make independent field decisions and escalate issues as needed., Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI): We may use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support parts of our hiring process, including sourcing, screening, and evaluating candidates.
