## About the Role

* Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related field or equivalent experience.
 * 2+ years of hands-on backend software engineering experience in large-scale MySQL systems.
 * Hands on experience building and operating highly available, reliable, production grade systems at scale.
 * Strong problem-solving skills and analytical mindset, with the ability to use data to guide decisions.
 * Strong programming skills in Python.
 * Infrastructure provisioning tools (Terraform, Puppet, etc.)
 * Demonstrated experience leveraging AI to accelerate development, enhance operations, and improve customer support.
 * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights.
 * A track record of developing high-quality software with high reliability.
 * Proven ability to manage and deliver technical initiatives to achieve high-impact outcomes.

## Description

* Work with a team of engineers and database specialists to build and support reliable, performant and efficient database systems that operate at a huge scale and empower numerous business critical applications across the entire company.
 * Design, implement, and maintain mission-critical features that will help us deliver robust MySQL infrastructure to our customers.
 * Maintain a high engineering standard for MySQL infrastructure, focusing on continuous improvement in reliability, scalability, performance, cost efficiency, and developer velocity.
 * Serve as a member of the MySQL Infra on-call team, providing timely support for all pages and critical issues, including monitoring, prompt response to alerts, issue diagnosis/resolution, and communicating status to stakeholders.
 * Use AI to accelerate team execution, system design, and decision-making, applying sound judgment to validate outputs and ensure correctness and quality.
 * Grow your skills in an inclusive and encouraging environment.
 * Learn from supportive, collaborative teammates., * We recognize that the ideal environment for work is situational and may differ across departments. What this looks like day-to-day can vary based on the needs of each organization or role.
 * This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times per quarter and therefore needs to be in a commutable distance from the following offices: PA office.
