This role is ideal for a senior software engineer who has spent years building production systems and now wants to work closer to customers-without leaving hands-on engineering behind. You'll work directly with strategic partners, operators, and internal product teams to deliver high-impact solutions quickly, while ensuring that bespoke work feeds back into scalable, reusable platform capabilities. This is not a support or solutions-only role: you'll write real production code, influence core architecture, and help shape the Partner Engineering roadmap. This role requires someone who came up through a mid-senior SWE track and is comfortable operating in ambiguity, translating messy real-world constraints into durable software. Office Location: We are a hybrid company based in the Bay Area with offices in both San Francisco & Menlo Park. We care about work-life balance, and understand that there will be times where flexibility is needed. What you will do: * Embed with strategic partners to understand technical, operational, and data workflows * Build backend and full-stack systems that power partner integrations and patient access * Translate bespoke partner needs into scalable, reusable platform features * Rapidly prototype and ship solutions while maintaining production-grade quality * Own partner-facing APIs, data flows, and onboarding integrations end to end * Collaborate closely with product, ops, data, and clinical teams to launch real-world solutions * Feed partner learnings back into product strategy and platform architecture * Act as a technical owner for complex integrations from discovery through rollout ## Related Videos - [Python-Based Data Streaming Pipelines Within Minutes](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1233-python-based-data-streaming-pipelines-within-minutes) - [Why and when should we consider Stream Processing frameworks in our solutions](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1085-why-and-when-should-we-consider-stream-processing-frameworks-in-our-solutions) - [Developing the Backend with Stefan Lingler, CTO at Shpock](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100360-developing-the-backend-with-stefan-lingler-cto-at-shpock) - [Throwing off the burdens of scale in engineering](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/608-throwing-off-the-burdens-of-scale-in-engineering) - [Meet Your New BFF: Backend to Frontend without the Duct Tape](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/682-meet-your-new-bff-backend-to-frontend-without-the-duct-tape) - [Nest.js - TypeScript in the backend can also be clean](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1033-nest-js-typescript-in-the-backend-can-also-be-clean) ## Related Articles - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again) - [The 7 Most Popular Backend Frameworks for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/403-the-7-most-popular-backend-frameworks-for-developers) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers) - [Why Upskilling And Reskilling is Important For Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/428-why-upskilling-and-reskilling-is-important-for-developers) - [Dev Digest 103 - Superb Owl Trafficking](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/388-dev-digest-103-superb-owl-trafficking) - [The Best X (Twitter) Accounts for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/294-the-best-x-twitter-accounts-for-developers)
