All you need to do is follow these steps: https://www.youtube.com/embed/Iy0u9EB_cKQ 1. Open the current folder in Terminal (Ctrl + `) 2. Start your server or run your build process and note down the port number 3. Go to `ports`, add port and request forward 4. Open the context menu and set `visibility` to `public` 5. Copy the URL and you’re live - you can now send this URL to others to help you debug 6. Deleting the port forward also makes the URL inactive This is a an excellent way to temporalily share your app with the world without having to use a tunnel service like ngrok. Just be aware that you are effectively making your local machine available web-wide and thus also vulnerable to attacks. As a quick means to debug an app or show it to others for review, this is excellent but it should not be used as a way to publish your app to users. ## Related Articles - [Getting started with hosting HTML/CSS/JavaScript demos/web sites on GitHub Pages](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/705-getting-started-with-hosting-html-css-javascript-demos-web-sites-on-github-pages) - [Visual Studio Code Shortcuts for Navigating Your Code](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/406-visual-studio-code-shortcuts-for-navigating-your-code) - [7 VSCode Extensions That Actually Make You More Efficient (2025 Edition)](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/587-7-vscode-extensions-that-actually-make-you-more-efficient-2025-edition) - [5 VS Code Shortcuts to Improve Your Markdown](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/395-5-vs-code-shortcuts-to-improve-your-markdown) ## Related Videos - [You click, you lose: a practical look at VSCode's security](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/717-you-click-you-lose-a-practical-look-at-vscode-s-security) - [Debugging Static Web Apps](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/390-debugging-static-web-apps) - [Vulnerable VS Code extensions are now at your front door](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/283-vulnerable-vs-code-extensions-are-now-at-your-front-door) - [Local Development Techniques with Kubernetes](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/166-local-development-techniques-with-kubernetes) ## Related Jobs - [Senior Software Engineer, Sandboxes (Eu Or East Coast Preferred)](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/jobs/ext/2145616-senior-software-engineer-sandboxes-eu-or-east-coast-preferred) at **Docker, Inc.** - [Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/jobs/ext/3781900-senior-software-engineer-fullstack) at **TeamViewer Germany GmbH,** - [Software Engineer I](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/jobs/ext/2224713-software-engineer-i) at **GitHub** - [Senior Software Engineer, Sandboxes (Eu Or East Coast Preferred)](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/jobs/ext/2159298-senior-software-engineer-sandboxes-eu-or-east-coast-preferred) at **Docker, Inc.** - [Senior Software Engineer, Sandboxes (Eu Or East Coast Preferred)](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/jobs/ext/2145730-senior-software-engineer-sandboxes-eu-or-east-coast-preferred) at **Docker, Inc.** - [Senior Software Engineer](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/jobs/ext/2618818-senior-software-engineer) at **TeamViewer Germany GmbH,**
