Open video and bookmarks now follow whatever's actually playing. - **Consistent search controls** — videos, jobs, companies, global search, and insights all use the same search/filter layout now instead of each doing their own thing. ## May 6, 2026 - **Terminal mode** — Labs now has a permanent terminal theme. Green-on-black, square edges, scanlines, the whole tiny-computer vibe. - **Search as a command line** — in terminal mode, the header title becomes a keyboard-first command menu. Jump to pages or search videos, jobs, articles, contributors, sessions, and moments without reaching for the mouse. - **Theme polish everywhere** — auth, pricing, jobs, company pages, event cards, and video prompts now follow the terminal shape instead of randomly staying rounded. ## May 5, 2026 - **Accounts are here** — sign in with email codes, add a passkey, and manage the basics from `/profile`. - **Bookmarks moved server-side** — saved items now live with your account instead of local browser storage. - **Account-based access** — some videos can require a free or Pro account. Public pages stay public; gated playback asks you to sign in or upgrade. - **Navigation grew up for profiles** — there’s a real profile page now, so sign-in, For You, and account links have proper places in the menu, including mobile. - **Pricing has a shape** — Free, Pro, and Business are clearer now, with Business routed to sales while Pro is still coming soon. - **For You keeps working across devices** — recommendations still start from your bookmarks, but those bookmarks now follow your account. - **Newsletter preference** — opt in during signup or change your mind later from your profile. You won’t get emails from this yet — this is still Labs. :) - **Labs ended today** — auth is chores, but at least we have passkeys. ## April 28, 2026 - **Labs is hiring** — we added a plain-English role page for a product-minded software engineer. Look for the small terminal strip at the top of the site. ## April 16, 2026 - **US jobs are finally in** — job search now covers the US alongside Europe. Search, insights, salary data — all there, dollar signs included. ## April 13, 2026 - **Links stay on Labs** — imported articles now swap old WeAreDevelopers article and video links for local Labs pages when we already have the match. - **Community members on the homepage** — sponsored partner cards now show up between articles and careers, and company cards open local Labs pages when we have them. ## April 10, 2026 - **Companies page cleaned up** — the default browse view now shows companies that are actively hiring. Cards are lighter too: just the name, logo, tech stack, and job count. Search still finds every company. - **Accurate job counts** — company job counters could drift after bulk imports. They stay in sync now. ## April 9, 2026 - **Markdown pages work everywhere now** — `.md` pages could show garbled or stale content when served through Cloudflare's edge cache. Fixed the caching and cleaned up leaked HTML on job and company pages. - **Fresher jobs and companies** — the import pipeline now tracks upstream API changes, so listings and company profiles stay up to date. - **Company stories in the right order** — stories on the homepage and hiring pages now sort by actual publish date instead of when we last imported them. - **LIVE badge stays lit** — the nav indicator no longer drops out between background refresh cycles. - **Tidier footer** — links renamed, reordered, and sentence-cased. ## April 1, 2026 **We're adding blockchain to every video**. Just kidding. Here's what we actually shipped: - **LIVE page stays live** — the stream page now picks up the show even when YouTube's feed is slow or missing entirely. No more stale replays when a show is actually happening. - **Correct time labels** — scheduled times now show the right timezone (`CEST` in summer, `CET` in winter) instead of always saying `CET`. - **Videos page redesigned** — browse by series with filter chips, search inline, and a cleaner grid. Less clutter, easier to find what you want. - **Simpler video cards** — thumbnails and titles do the talking now. Series icons are gone; the cards are lighter and faster to scan. - **Better empty states** — searching for something that doesn't exist on `/videos` now tells you clearly and lets you reset with one click. - 🐣 **Happy Easter** — we're off until Monday. The site isn't. — [Tom](https://github.com/tonze) & [Tom](https://github.com/tkoenig) ## March 29, 2026 - **Pricing page** — Pro and Business plans now have a real `/pricing` page with a side-by-side comparison, FAQ, and signup flow. Session pages link there too when you want to watch remotely. - **Pricing table optimized for mobile** — the feature column stays pinned while plan columns scroll. - **Ticket card moves up on mobile** — on session pages, the ticket and livestream card now sits right under the speaker info instead of buried below the fold. ## March 27, 2026 - **Events are easier to scan** — the homepage now points straight to Berlin, San Jose, and Bengaluru, with cleaner event cards and announced speaker counts. - **Hall of fame** — the World Congress teaser now sits next to a tighter speaker lineup, with direct links to contributor pages. ## March 26, 2026 - **For You got a makeover** — recommendations are now grouped into clear sections: upcoming sessions, things to watch, articles to read, and career matches. Less wall of content, more useful structure. - **Moments now feel instant** — the first clip opens right away on the homepage, search, jobs, bookmarks, and For You, with smoother switching between cards. - **Word-by-word captions and quick saves** — open moments now show pop captions, and you can bookmark clips directly from the reel. - **Cleaner video player** — full videos now use the same lighter player design, with clearer controls and in-player bookmarking. - **Cleaner session cards** — long titles, speaker names, and taglines now wrap more nicely and stay clear of speaker photos. - **Simpler events section** — three cards (Europe, North America, India) in a clean grid. Tech Leaders and HR Leaders Summit are linked from the Europe card. No more complex responsive layouts. ## March 25, 2026 - **Fixed: moments reel playback** — clicking between moment cards could leave the video stuck on a poster image or spinner. Switching back and forth reliably plays now. ## March 24, 2026 - **Homepage redesign** — search up top, featured video, moments, events. The hiring section merges companies, jobs, and stories into one compact block instead of three separate sections. - **Better moment cards** — text-first design with speaker avatars. Keyboard-accessible too. - **Fixed: search** — a CSRF token issue could drop you on the homepage instead of showing results. Works across all browsers now. ## March 22, 2026 - **Edge search submit fix** — in Edge, pressing Enter in the main search (lupe / ⌘K) could close the overlay and drop you back on the homepage without adding the query to the URL. It now consistently opens `/search?q=...`. ## March 21, 2026 - **Cleaner search results** — empty sections no longer show "No matching X yet." placeholders. If there's nothing to show, the section just isn't there. - **"See all contributors" link in search** — when there are more contributor matches than fit on screen, you can now click through to the full list. - **Compact article cards in search** — article results now use the same compact layout as job pages instead of oversized full cards. - **Company stories on the homepage** — now show which company they're from, in a tighter 4-up grid. ## March 20, 2026 - **Contributors page** — browse everyone who's contributed to WeAreDevelopers events. Search by name, filter by event, or scroll the grid. Currently event speakers — authors and LIVE guests coming soon. - **Contributor profiles** — every contributor gets a page at `/@handle`. Bio, talks, videos, articles — all linked across events. Bios are AI-generated from their session history and content on the platform. - **Contributors and sessions in search** — the search bar now finds contributors by name and conference sessions alongside videos, articles, and jobs. Session cards show the event, date, and a ticket link for upcoming conferences. - **Session pages** — talk description, linked contributors, tags, and the video recording when one exists. Speakers on video and article pages link back to profiles too. - **Lighter images** — speaker and profile photos served as AVIF via Cloudflare. Page weight dropped ~77%. - **Conference data stays fresh** — Sessionize sync runs every 15 minutes for live and upcoming events. Only re-imports when something actually changed. ## March 10, 2026 - **Expired jobs stop breaking for agents** — requesting a removed job listing with `.md` now returns a clean "410 Gone" instead of crashing with a 500 error. Crawlers and AI agents get the hint to stop revisiting, and the response is cached at the edge for 24 hours. ## March 6, 2026 - **Pages load faster** — content is now served from the nearest edge server worldwide. You get the latest version every time, the CDN refreshes in the background. - **Fixed: phantom "Load more" button on company pages** — it now disappears once all stories are loaded. ## February 27, 2026 - **Fixed: live page showed yesterday's speaker** — guest names now only appear when they match the current stream date. - **Calmer upcoming state** — the pulsing "UPCOMING" badge only kicks in within 24 hours of showtime. Before that, it's a quiet "NEXT EPISODE." - **Live chat works again** — live and upcoming streams use a native YouTube embed so you can actually interact with the chat. - **Agents get a guide** — [`/agents.md`](/agents.md) now documents all searchable content types, available filters, and usage terms. There's also a nav link and a hidden page for the curious. 🙊 ## February 26, 2026 - **Any page, as markdown** — append `.md` to any URL for clean, structured text. Point your agent at [`/home.md`](/home.md) or look for the 🤖 link in the header. ## February 25, 2026 - **Live page** — new `/live` page with auto-playing video, guest info, next episode countdown, and status badges (live/upcoming/replay/offline). When a stream is broadcasting, the homepage hero swaps to the live feed with a pulsing LIVE NOW badge. - **Job search gets smarter** — search now blends keyword matching with AI similarity, so searching "React Berlin" finds jobs by title, skills, *and* meaning. Matching skills float to the front of job cards so you see why it's a hit. ## February 24, 2026 - **Better video recommendations on job pages** — job detail pages now suggest related talks based on the actual skills in the listing. A Kubernetes role surfaces Kubernetes talks, not just loosely related content. Now showing 6 instead of 3. - **Fixed: "Full Video" button in moments** — now opens the talk at the position you were watching. ## February 23, 2026 - **Search understands your intent** — searching for a speaker name like "Werner Vogels" now trusts keyword matching; searching for a concept like "developer productivity" leans on meaning.
